A design-thinking workshop in collaboration with Shad Canada is to take place on June 23, 2023, between 6 PM and 8 PM. This session promises to be an enlightening experience for all participants, fostering a creative and inclusive environment where ideas can flourish.
Shad Canada (https://www.shad.ca), in collaboration with the Black Business Professional Network Inc. (BBPN) New Brunswick, presents a series of design-thinking Shad workshops, centered around the theme "Design the Future: Empathy, Technology, and the Physical World." These workshops aim to engage and inspire students connected to BBPN New Brunswick, providing them with valuable insights into the Shad program and the opportunity to explore their passions while developing essential skills for the future.
Leading the workshop will be Michelle McFarlane, the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Manager of Shad Canada. With her expertise and dedication to fostering diverse and inclusive learning spaces, Michelle will guide the students through an interactive and thought-provoking design-thinking process.
The Shad program is a transformative experience designed for students in grades 10 and 11 who aspire to make a positive impact in the world. Through an innovative framework encompassing science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education, as well as entrepreneurship, Shad equips young minds with the tools and knowledge to uncover their passions, connect with like-minded peers, and develop the skills necessary to tackle complex challenges.
With programs offered at 22 universities (including Shad's virtual campus) across Canada, Shad has cultivated a vibrant community of over 20,000 alumni who continue to drive change in various fields. The selection process for Shad programs ensures that exceptional young talents are chosen, creating a diverse and dynamic cohort of students with a shared drive to create a better future.
The collaboration between Shad Canada and BBPN New Brunswick represents an exciting opportunity for students to explore their potential, nurture their passions, and embrace the challenges that lie ahead. By participating in the "Design the Future: Empathy, Technology, and the Physical World" workshop, students will gain invaluable insights into the Shad program and discover the numerous possibilities it offers to shape their future pathways.
We look forward to a remarkable workshop experience that sparks creativity, innovation, and a sense of empowerment among the students of BBPN New Brunswick. Together, we will foster a new generation of change-makers who will make a lasting impact on their communities and beyond.
